These two DVDs reveal shocking information about the true cause of AIDS and cancer and a possible cure for them. DVD one presents professor Dr. Wolf Szmu-ness, the scientist who created AIDS, while DVD two tells us about Wolf Szmuness the man: His childhood in Poland, the years of suffering in a Siberian labour camp, but also about his dark and tragic bond to the world of homosexuals. Was he victim or perpetrator? In any case he was “The man who created Aids”.

About the play

LosAngelesReader (Los Angeles’s Free Weekly), Friday, September 10, 1993 Latest Reviews Theater The man Who Created AIDS This play, written and performed by German émigré Lanoo, takes the form of a lecture by Dr. Wolf Szmuness, chief of the New York Blood Center, who died in 1982. In Lanoo’s portrayal, Szmuness is the unwitting conductor of a cancer experiment, the argument being that the AIDS virus was surreptitiously injected into his Hepatitis-B vaccine trials among New York homosexuals and black Africans in the late 1970s. According to Lanoo, Szmuness himself invented the AIDS virus. How much is true is difficult to ascertain, but given the historical facts of the Tuskegee syphilis experiments and the use of GIs as guinea pigs during atomic tests, it certainly raises plausible questions worth contemplating. To his credit, Lanoo is not afraid of challenge: he takes questions from the audience at the conclusion of the show, which, incidentally, is not without hope. Dieses Stück, geschrieben und gespielt vom deutschen Auswanderer Lanoo, hat die Form einer Vorlesung von Dr. Wolf Szmuness, Leiter des New Yorker Blutzentrums, der 1982 starb. In Lanoos Portrait leitet Szmunss unabsichtlich ein Krebs-Experiment, von dem behauptet wird, dass das Aids-Virus heimlich in seine Hepatitis-B Impfstoffversuche an New Yorker Homosexuellen und Afrikanern in den späten siebziger Jahren injiziert wurde. Laut Lanoo entwickelte Szmuness selbst das Aids-Virus.

Wie viel davon wahr ist, lässt sich schwer feststellen, aber dadurch, dass die historischen Fakten des Tuskegee Syphilis Experiments und der Gebrauch von GIs als Versuchskaninchen während der Atomtests einfließen, stellt es mit Sicherheit plausible Fragen, die durchaus einige Überlegungen wert sind. Was für ihn spricht: Lanoo scheut die Herausforderung nicht: Er beantwortet Fragen des Publikums am Ende der Show, die nicht ohne Hoffnung ist. Sie ist besonders den Neugierigen und den Besorgten zu empfehlen.
